London, UK

London, England
My eco companion and I arrived in London, UK.   Stay at a lovely old London hotel like this one.

IHG Hotels  have a solid environmental policy and that is why Environmental Wanderer chose them.
We went for some fun in Knightsbridge and then just walked up the road and went shopping at Harrods.  It is such a lovely place to shop that you buy more than you intended!  Too much hustle and bustle there so my eco companion and I took a five minute walk and were here:

All this eco is just five minutes from Harrods – can you believe it!
Next day we went to see the famous Tower of London.  This eco view of it from the river Thames hasn’t changed in hundreds of years.  There is a water gate to it direct from the river.

Tower Bridge is such a famous English icon.  We took to the river to view it eco style.

An eco view from the waters of the river Thames of the very famous dome of St Paul’s Christian Cathedral.  Such beautiful architecture.  It almost sings.

London’s Hyde Park is huge and sits right in the center of the city.  Lakes, trees and swans and not a building in sight.  Lovely eco London.

Sometimes if you are very lucky you get a beautiful eco view of central London.  In the heart of London this eco view has not changed in hundreds of years – just grass lawns and trees and just beyond, but so close, is the river Thames flowing like a shiny satin ribbon past your room.

We met a Lord and Lady of the realm for tea so had to have good English cakes.  Find these little beauties in Chelsea.

An eco place to go in London is Battersea Lake.  Walk over the busy bridge into Battersea Park and a nice walk through the trees and find the coffee shop and lake.  Outdoor seating right by the water makes it a soothing spot for lunch.  Can this be central London?  There is no building in sight.  Not far away the big city hums with people and noise.   Here it is eco London.  Here it is quiet. Environmentally friendly.  Serene.  A secret.

High up in Knightsbridge – a birds eye view of towers and turrets:

My eco companion and I flew home on British Airways and for dinner they issued the same bamboo spoons that are available at the ecobeacon eco-store right here.    So Environmental Wanderer hopes to have shown you another side of big and busy London.  No red buses, no shopping tours, but more a focus on the river Thames as it slides through the city and  some green spaces and quiet views in a roaring city.  Lovely eco London.
